Magtanim ay Di-Biro

"Magtanim ay di biro, maghapong nakayuko, di man lang makaupo, di man lang makatayo"
-Filipino Folk Song

According to an American Proverb, We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children. Climate change is one of the timeliest issues in our world. The araling panlipunan student teachers of Guiguinto National Vocational High School and the selected students of Grade 9 Barasoain and Grade 9 Biak na Bato conducted a community outreach program or tree planting program and cleaning the community which part of the requirements of a student teacher. We have planted Avocado Tree and Chico Tree.
I believe as a future social studies teacher, as one of our objectives is to teach how the students or our youth will ignite their hearts for our nation for being Maka Diyos, Maka bansa, Maka Tao at Maka Kalikasan (the motto of our country) and it’s our responsible to serve our country in our collective efforts and deeds.

Here are the documentation of tree planting.
Mhelvin, Emilyn and Jomar are volunteers from Grade 9-Barasoain under the supervision of Ma'am Stephanie Castro.

Noreen, Charity and Hannah are volunteers from Grade 9-Biak na Bato under the supervision of Sir John Erickson R. Bulan.
Ma'am Ana is one of the teachers in Agriculture Department, she helped me and Ma'am Stephanie to supervise the students.
Charity and Noreen cleans the area by sweeping the ground.
Jhomar and Emilyn do plow the soil for planting.
Sir Bulan, Ma'am Stephanie helped Jhomar and Emily plowing the soil.
Noreen helped to.
Sir Bulan helped Hannah to plant the trees.
Ma'am Stephanie, Emilyn and Noreen do sprinkle the newly planted trees.
Sir Bulan helped Noreen and Charity to wash their hands and they also helped me to clean my hands.

For me it is a stupendous experience, an effective teacher-student relationship shows good outputs because we love what we are doing, we do have bond each other and the students feel amaze because they planted trees to their Alma Mater which they see as a legacy, if the tree grows bigger they will remember that they planted the trees with me and Ma'am Stephanie Castro.
